The Launch of the Second Edition of the Mediterranean Youth Academy from the BA

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina witnessed the launch of the second edition of the Mediterranean Youth Academy, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Mediterranean Youth Foundation, with the participation of 120 young men and women from various Euro-Mediterranean countries from 14-19 September 2022, under the patronage of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and a large number of attendees including: Major General Ismail El-Far, Head of the Youth Sector at the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Ambassador Christian Berger, Ambassador of the European Union to Egypt; Dr. Mohamed Ghoneim, Director General of the Civic Education and Rehabilitation of Youth Cadres; Ms. Yasmine Alaa, Vice-President of the Mediterranean Youth Foundation, Mr. Youssef Aroug, Executive Director of the International Program Network at the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Mr. Laurent de Bock, Head of the International Organization for Migration, and Mr. Alessandro Fracassetti, UNDP Resident Representative in Egypt.

The Mediterranean Youth Academy starts a dialogue on the future of the Mediterranean region. The issues of this year's edition are based on five main tenets: “Irregular migration, youth empowerment and facilitation of the freedom of movement, climate change, human fraternity and gender equality.”
