The Bibliotheca Alexandria is organizing a seminar in celebration of the World Environment Day, in cooperation with Greater Cairo Public Library, the Climate Specific Federation, the Federation of Civil Associations and Institutions for Climate, the Egyptian Library Association, in addition to the Initiative for One Million Youth Volunteers for Climate Adaptation. The event will be attended by a host of professors and climate experts, and will take place on Thursday, 23 June 2022, at 5:00 pm, in the BACC Small Theater.

The seminar tackles climate changes, their impact on agriculture and livestock production, and the means to address them. It also discusses the methods of rationalizing water consumption, and examines the role of artificial intelligence and civil society organizations in addressing climate changes, with the aim of achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s vision 2030.

This seminar comes as part of the Egyptian State’s concern with environmental issues and climate changes, that revolves around the reconsideration of how society consumes Earth’s limited resources, and how trading companies can develop more environmentally friendly models, and transfer to green economies. The State also encourages farmers and manufacturers to produce sustainably, and supports governments in investing in environmental rehabilitation. These endeavors are aligned with the role of educators to inspire students and young people to work on building a sustainable future, and help combat climate change and global warming.

It is worth mentioning that the theme of World Environment Day 2022 is “Only One Earth”, focusing on “Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature”.
