Posted on

The BA Taha Hussein Library for the Visually Impaired, in cooperation with Hanns Seidel Foundation (Egypt Office), organizes a ceremony to honor graduates of “Improving Employment Opportunities for the Visually Impaired” project, which aims at preparing them for the job market. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, 9 December 2021, at 11:00 am, in the BACC Small Theater. This project targets university students and recent graduates.

It is worth noting that this project started in 2019 and, over the course of three years (from 2019 until the end of 2021), a number of training courses have been held that tackled the following aspects:

  • Training young people on how to use the computer and library applications through obtaining the ICDL Certificate.

  • Training young people on the programing language “Python” – one of the most demanded programing languages in the labor market.

  • Training young people to gain job skills, such as communication and time management skills, that can help them work more effectively.

  • Training young people on entrepreneurship, and enabling them to create opportunities and establish small enterprises with minimal resources.

  • Training young people on how to use the white cane as a main tool for movement.

The ceremony will be accompanied by a job fair for the blind and visually impaired, organized in collaboration with the Alexandria Business Association.

Attendance is by invitation only.
