The Director of Goethe-Institute in a Visit to the Library of Alexandria

Dr. Mostafa El-Feki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, received Mrs. Sabine Erlenwein, the new Director of Goethe Institute in Alexandria.

Dr. El-Feki expressed his delight at meeting Mrs. Erlenwein, as the two directors discussed the role of cultural institutions in strengthening dialogue among cultures and civilizations. They also discussed means of possible cooperation between the Library of Alexandria and Goethe Institute through presenting joint artistic and cultural programs.

Mrs. Sabine Erlenwein expressed her admiration for the Library collections, its books, acquisitions, and artistic exhibitions as well as the cultural and educational services it provides to its users. She considered the Library a symbol of peace in the world due to its role in maintaining communication across different cultures, thus giving access to knowledge to people around the world.

At the end of the visit, Dr. El-Feki presented Mrs. Erlenwein with a number of BA publications, including The Photographic Memory of Alexandria.
