The BA Organizes Lectures on the Relations between the East and West from the Middle Ages until the Turn of the Modern Era

The BA Center for Islamic Civilization Studies organizes a series of lectures entitled "The Relations between the East and West from the Middle Ages until the Turn of the Modern Era" delivered by Prof. Albrecht Fuess, Professor of Islamic Studies at Philipps University of Marburg, Germany. It will take place from 29–31 October 2019; 1:00–4:00 pm, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center, Delegates Hall.
The lectures tackle the following themes:
- Research methods in Historic Studies focusing on Arabic and European resources in the Middle Ages (Tuesday, 29 October 2019).
- The relation between the Christian Occident and Islamic Orient in the Middle Ages (Wednesday, 30 October 2019).
- The efforts of European Orientalists in studying the relation between the Occident and Orient (Wednesday, 30 October 2019).
The series of lectures will end with a workshop and presentation on the EGY Landscape Project, which studies the Egyptian landscape during the Late Mamluk and Early Ottoman Periods (Thursday, 31 October 2019).
