A seminar entitled “Paths of Enlightenment” was held at the BA Sinnari House, as part of the Arab Cultural Salon events.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, Dr. Qays Al-Azaway, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Dr. Essam Sharaf, former Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tazy, the Ambassador of Morocco, and Mr. Mohamed El-Kholy, Translator at the UN. Other participants included Dr. Salah Fadl, President of the Academy of Literary Criticism, and Dr. Mohamed Afifi, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, together with a host of intellectual and diplomatic figures.
The meeting discussed the paths of enlightenment and the rejection of fanaticism and bigotry. It also highlighted the importance of coexistence and tolerance, and accepting the other.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Elfeki announced the merging of the BA Cultural Salon with the Arab Cultural Salon, which he chairs in Cairo. The new Salon is held every three months, either at the BA headquarters or at one of its branches in Alexandria or Cairo.
