The Islamic Civilization Studies Center at the BA organizes a lecture entitled “The Influence of Islamic Civilization on European Scientific Thought in the Middle Ages.” The lecture is delivered by Dr. Mohammed Rafik Khalil, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, and is held on Thursday, 29 November 2018, at 2:00 pm, in the BACC Delegates Hall.
The lecture tackles the passages through which the Islamic civilization was transferred to Europe such as Andalusia, Sicily and the routes of commerce between the East and the West. It also sheds light on the role of translation in transferring medicine, pharmacy, literature and art to Europe in the Middle Ages, until the European Renaissance.
