Memory of Modern Egypt Outreaches to Cairo Schools

The BA “Memory of Modern Egypt” (MoME) project launched a campaign in Cairo’s secondary schools to introduce the project to Egyptian students. MoME is considered the biggest digital repository documenting Egypt’s modern history.
The initiative aims at enhancing student’s cultural, historical and knowledge backgrounds. A specialized team of researchers from the BA Special Projects Department participates in the campaign, and provides all the information related to MoME. Reseacher Mohamed Ghoneima gave the first lecture at the old al-Sanniya Girls School in El Sayeda Zeinab from which Mrs. Nabaweya Moussa was graduated.
It is worth mentioning that MoME project documents the last 200 years of Egypt’s modern history, starting from the reign of Mohamed Ali Pasha till the rule of former President Mohamed Anwar Al-Sadat, through more than thousands of items of films, documents, pictures, audios, maps, articles, stamps, coins, and research papers. In addition, the project features an index of 14 different material types.
