The Journey of the Holy Family in Egypt

The BA Center for Coptic Studies, in collaboration with the St. Catherine Cathedral in Alexandria and the Franciscan Center for Coptic Studies in Omraneya, is organizing an exhibition of ancient icons of the journey of the Holy Family organized by Kirlos Barsoum. The exhibition includes pictures of all the historical icons from the churches of Egypt associated with the journey of the Holy Family.
The event begins with an opening speech, followed by several academic lectures on the depictions of the journey in art, archaeology and manuscripts. Dr. Mary Magdy will deliver a lecture on the most important artifacts associated with the journey of the Holy Family. On Tuesday, 24 July 2018, Father Youssef al-Homy will deliver a lecture on the historical documents tracing the Holy Family's journey. The events will conclude with a lecture by Professor Shaza Gamal on the trail of the Holy Family in Egypt. The exhibition will continue until Thursday, 26 July 2018, at St. Catherine's Cathedral in El-Mansheya.
