The BA Visits Department, affiliated with the External Relations and Protocol Sector, is organizing the Family Visit Program, which is set to begin on Sunday, 24 June 2018. This program enables family members of all ages to tour the BA in order to learn about the places they are allowed to visit and the services provided at the BA.
The programs includes a historical introduction of the Old Library of Alexandria, an introduction on the New Library and its sections and services, and a visit to the Children’s Library, Young People’s Library, Taha Hussein Library, Manuscript Museum, Antiquities Museum, and Sadat Museum. The program also includes a tour of the permanent and temporary exhibitions at the BA, the Culturama, and the PSC Exploratorium.
The BA organizes the program on a daily basis from Sunday to Thursday, and the visit lasts from one and a half to two hours. Visitors can join the program without having to purchase a separate ticket. All family members, starting from the age of four, can join the visit during summer and mid-year vacations.
Interested participants can join the program by making reservations, on a first-come, first-served basis, at the Guided Tours desk, Main Entrance.
