Fifth African Students Graduation Ceremony

The BA is organizing the 5th annual African Students Graduation Ceremony, for members of the African League of Young Masters (ALYM), to be held on Monday, 3 July 2017 at 12:00 noon. The event will be attended by a number of Ambassadors of African countries and representatives of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the African Union.

The ALYM now includes a number of its alumni who are working on their postgraduate studies in African countries and abroad. The program has greatly expanded over the years, and it now has branches in Uganda and Namibia that aim to disseminate knowledge and enlightenment in different African countries.

The ALYM was established in 2011. The program initially focused on African students studying at Alexandria University, and it then extended to include the students of Cairo University, Ain Shams University, and the American University in Cairo (AUC).

The program’s main objective has always been to develop channels of communication between students from all over Africa through holding meetings to promote constructive discussions, encourage the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and introduce different social and economic backgrounds. These activities enable students to establish cooperative learning environments and develop a variety of skills.

The ALYM members meet every Saturday at the BA or every Thursday at Cairo University to tackle different topics, exchange new information on their countries’ status, review obstacles and suggest possible solutions, and discuss the latest developments in the fields of science and technology.
