This lecture is organized by the BA Antiquities Museum. The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Mervat Yehia, General Director of the Alexandria National Museum, and will discuss ceramic cinerary urns—made of the most commonly used material in ancient times—and their different shapes, such as the amphora and hydra. The lecture will also present the various ornamentations decorating the urns, which reflect the manufacturers’ skills, and it will address how those urns were considered a reflection of the age during which they were created.
