Egypt has recently won several awards at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2022, which took place in Atlanta, USA, from 7 to 13 May 2022, with the participation of students of the BA Science and Engineering Fair (BASEF), which is organized annually by the BA Planetarium Science Center.

Student Abdel Rahman Ahmed Ibrahim Draz, from New Future International School (Al Gharbiyah governorate), won the third place internationally in the category of Robotics and Intelligent Machines, for his project “The Robot of Difficult Tasks”, while students Abdullah Al-Afifi and Adam Yasser, from Ismailia STEM School, won the fourth place in the category of Environmental Engineering, for their project "The Integration of Mechanical and Chemical Treatment in the Hydrological Cycle for the Manufacturing of Paper and Pulp.”

With regard to the special awards granted at Regeneron ISEF, students Sama Mohamed Nouh and Shahd Mohamed Nouh, from Sharqia STEM School, received a scholarship from the University of Arizona, for their project "A New Amendment to the Face Mask in Filtering Carbon Monoxide for Passive Smokers”, while student Hagar Atef Ibrahim Hassan, from Al-Orman Language School, was awarded a scholarship from the same university, for her project “The Integrated Ecosystem in the Management of Sustainable Waste.”

In this respect, the BA hails the constructive role of its success partners: the Ministry of Education and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

It is worth mentioning that Regeneron ISEF is the ultimate international competition in the field of science, at the pre-university level. It grants more than 1700 students around the world the opportunity to gather, share ideas, and showcase advanced scientific projects, in addition to competing for academic scholarships and scientific trips. The competition also allows students to meet and discuss their projects with international scientists and Nobel Prize laureates.
